Walls of Primos

So, I decided this would be a good time to finish my old matte paintings. Gates of Primos are now more or less done... though I could work on this forever and I'd never feel satisfied. So I better post it.

Walls of Primos are impenetrable. Its gates are shut... The barbaric outside world may never enter the last outpost of humanity.

Star Wars Armies of the Fallen Teaser

On April 18, 2010, I finished Star Wars Shadows of the Past. I had a vision then, of armies of soldiers with lightsabers clashing in the setting sun. I spent the next few moths learning enough CG to make this happen. In December 2010 I announced Armies of the Fallen and I've been working on it ever since.

In summer 2011, due to computer failure, I lost 90% of my AotF data. I had to start again. In December 2011 I got to the same stage where I was in August. Then, when I finally started to export the shots, complications arose, I wasn't happy with the shots, the music, everything. A lot of back and forth work was required. But we kept on going. And I am now ready to present to you what I saw in my head two years ago.

And it's just the beginning...
:-D (It sounds so epic when I say that)

Unused Matte Painting

Here's a little matte painting I did for a certain project. This piece never made it further than the WIP stage (though it's pretty much 90% finished), so I'm posting it here.

Yep, inspired by Dylan Cole and Chris Stoski.

Featured in 2D Artist

My Dreaming of Paper Airplanes is now published in the 2D Artist Issue 68 gallery. It's a great honor for me, there's a lot of incredibly talented artists contributing to 2DA and I still don't really feel like being good enough to be listed among them. But hey, I won't be the one complaining... :-D

Dreaming of Paper Airplanes

I got sick, so I decided to paint something while lying in bed. It's been a long time since I've last opened Photoshop, too long. The composition is all wrong, I guess, but still... I had a lot of fun.

Created in Photoshop, base mesh in Maya.

NEWZ

In the precious free time I so long to have now I managed to paint several digital and matte painting studies. By no means masterpieces, but it was great fun making them.
City of Primos * Work in Progress
Futurisk
Misty Tower
Invasion

That's all from me for some time.
